This is a very active breed and requires regular exercise, in a small space, and it takes dedication to care for. The breed needs proper nutrition, regular grooming and a fair amount of socialization and playtime.
What is the Health Issue with the Dog?
There are several health issues with this dog. The first is entropion, which occurs when the eyelid rolls inward. It is usually noticed when the dog licks your hand. The second is a detached retina in the dog’s lower eye, which has a possible complication of glaucoma, and the third, and most common, is dry eye. The dog will sneeze, run a hand across its eyes and not be able to see it unless the eyes are flushed.
These problems are easily remedied with proper care, and they can be corrected with surgery if need be.

The Affenpinscher is generally very easy to groom, with a coat that is a good length and ligand with a fur between the hairs. If its coat is removed, only the ears are needed to be trimmed.
The eyes should be wiped regularly and if it gets smelly, the teeth should be brushed twice a week.
It is a happy dog when treated with love and attention, and will become a loyal and good dog.
