Every dog owner should use a crate to train their dog. Dog trainers teach dogs how to “sit” and “stay” by using a crate. Using a crate, you can train your dog to go to it when they are told to go. Using a crate may be a better option than using a pen because a crate is more similar to a jail cell than a pen. You control your dog while inside, and they can do whatever they want.
You are the boss! After you teach your dog to use a crate, you can also show him a crate to make him go inside.
You can only train your dog when they are inside the crate. Never try to tell him what to do outside of the crate. Dogs have a natural instinct to not go to the bathroom where they are kept. Once your dog uses the crate, you can take him outside.
If your dog makes a mess inside the crate, don’t punish him. Just clean it up so your dog doesn’t get sick.
When you take your dog outside, do not tell him to go inside. Take him out instead. They will start to go to the bathroom to let them know where they are supposed to go.
If your dog goes to the bathroom inside, be consistent. Dogs also have the ability to go to the bathroom anywhere, anytime. Don’t be upset if it happens outside.

If you want to stop your dog from peeing inside the house, don’t let him pee anywhere he wants. Instead, let them go to the bathroom outside. This will teach them to wait for you to let them out of the crate.
When you need to take your dog out, be sure to take them outside of the house. Don’t force them to go inside the house. This will lead to confusion and fear. Instead, let them go outside. Let them go to a spot they normally go to when they need to go outside. Once they go inside the house, give them praise.
Crate training may take a little bit of time, but it’s well worth the effort. Crate training is also a good option for housebreaking a puppy. Dogs will learn a lot faster if they are confined in a crate.
If you’re training a dog or puppy to use a crate, keep the crate clean. Make it seem like a comfortable and safe place to sleep. When it’s time for them to go to the bathroom, let them go to the bathroom outside the crate. This will keep them from peeing inside the crate.
