Is My Dog “Happy”?

When you first encounter a dog or puppy you immediately think of pure joy. Your dog can be very fun and playful, and this can make it very easy to forget the needs of your dog. You think of the dog as if it was just a puppy, but the reality is that it is a dog.

When you first get a dog you need to do some initial training and get him socialized. If you leave them alone, they will become very confused and could bite someone, which is a no-no. Once they are well socialized, they can be fun to play with and very lovable to be around.

Your dog, and especially a puppy needs to be taken on daily walks. Do not think that the puppy that you are taking home will take a daily walk, as that is not what they are really here for. Puppies are a little like babies, they are full of energy, and can get into trouble if not taken out every day.

Do not let the puppy run wild, as they could escape and be lost or taken away. A lost or found puppy or dog can be hard to re-locate if they are wild. Give them a collar and leash and let them know where they are at. They are most likely to run to you when they hear the leash. Give them a chew toy, take them out every day, and let them know that you are here.

Be sure that you have plenty of flea control, which is necessary for a dog. Dogs are part of the flea population, and without a good flea control system you are setting yourself up for a problem. Fleas will bite and can cause major skin infections. Dogs will scratch, chew, bite and eat the furniture, the carpet and even your skin if left unattended.

Dogs need obedience training. An aggressive dog will be hard to train, and you will likely need a behavior specialist. A well-trained dog can be fun to be around and will behave nicely. A trained dog should be well behaved and listen when told. A well-behaved dog will be a joy to leave home with you.

Dogs can be hard to train and there are some that take some time to master, but they are great. Dogs are great companions and will never let you down. Dogs are not hard to love, they love you unconditionally.

I would like to end in high regard about this wonderful animal, and that is; that they are beautiful in their devotion to their owner. They are there to protect and serve.
