Dogs are a man’s best friend and the first dog you bring home is the dog you will live with for the duration of your children’s lives in the house. This is no small matter as not only must you teach and discipline your children and help them form good habits but you have to teach your dog the right habits as well.
One of the first rules is not to let your dog jump up on you as though it has the right to jump whenever it damn pleases. If you don’t want this to happen then stop him from jumping up and show him that you are the leader of the pack. Once you have done this your dog will be glad.
This is a difficult concept for your dog to comprehend and it may take some time to teach it but it is well worth the effort if you will do it correctly. Another important aspect of dog training is to not allow it to chew on your expensive clothes or shoes or anything else which it so desires to.
Your dog needs to understand that it is not allowed to do this and this is something that has to be taught by you as well. When you have taught your dog this, then it is good to go. If you want to train your dog to respond properly to commands such as “sit”, “stay”, “heel”, “down”, “come”, “stop” “stand”, or “sit”, then you need to learn the dog’s signals, and learn to interpret them.
If you don’t learn to read dog signals, you will not have an easy time with things, and your dog will simply disregard your commands. This is not to say that all of your dog’s signals will necessarily be ignored. Some of them will. Some dogs will simply respond with a simple rollover, or even less. This does not mean that those signals don’t exist.
In fact, there are quite a few that are easily recognized and respondable. But you would need to train some dogs on how to interpret such signals, and learn their meanings. You will need to train your dog on his signals, and learn to interpret them. To do this, you have to go back to basic training and learn how to get your dog’s attention.
After you have trained it well on some basic tricks, such as the “chicken dance”, and some other things, you can start to add on the other commands. This is where you will need to continue to train your pet and try to teach him the meaning of their signals, and how to respond when it does something right.
When he does something wrong, you do not reprimand it and reward it after the fact. This will confuse your pet. Instead, you need to keep a cool head. When it does something right, reward it with a treat. If it does a trick correctly, then reward it with praises. And always praise it when it does something right. This will help to teach it that “dogs are praised”, and that “yes” means “good”, and it is right.
And this is how you will make your dog learn and respond to your commands, and your commands alone. You are going to need to train them in all of their basic commands over a period of time. You can’t expect them to respond to a command if they don’t understand what it is. And you can’t expect them to respond to a command if they lack the ability, or know how to do it.
Now, you must make sure to train them on how to handle things when they are responding to you. It would not do any of us well if we do not properly train our pets. Training them will bring us and them closer. And training them will help us to be more effective. And training them will help them understand what “dog” means.
And this is what will make them listen to what we have to say. And in return, they will show us a greater level of loyalty and devotion. Dog training is one of the few things that are needed if you want to make sure that your children’s dog behaves properly. In the process of training to teach your dog this, you may have to punish it if it is doing something wrong.
However, never ever resort to physical punishments. It is better to just give your dog a new command if it is behaving improperly. if you resort to physical punishments, it then has the tendency to develop aggression and self-defense which may be dangerous and is the last thing you want to see.
